Activity Courses FAQ’s

We understand that you will have lots of questions about our activities courses, your child’s welfare and a host of other details. If you have any other questions please contact us via email or call on 07812 104 128

You can book by contacting us via email or over the phone by calling us on 07812 104 128. You will need to complete the booking/application form which is available via our website. A member of our Edge team will be more than happy to help you through your booking.

Payments can be made either by BACS, Ping-it or cash before the activities club starts. Bookings will not be confirmed until the £20 non-refundable deposit has been made. Any payments that have not be fully received on the first day when dropping your child off, will not be permitted to attend.

Any items left at the pool will be collected and stored appropriately. If you think you have left anything at the pool please let us know as soon as possible so we can return the items to you.

Unfortunately at this moment in time we do not accept childcare vouchers.

We know plans change so you can change booking dates for free up to 14-days before your Edge activities club booking – as long as it is within the current season and there is availability. Changes made less than 14 days prior to the date you would like to change, will incur a £10 administration fee. If you have booked a full week then we can only move the booking as a full week, unless you are happy to pay the difference in price to split into days.

Standard drop off time is from 8.30am, and pick up time is 3.00pm

If you’re running late to collect your child, please call 07812 104 128 as soon as possible so we can inform the activities club co-ordinator. If you are later than 3.30pm, we charge £5 for every fifteen minutes to cover the extra costs of having 2 members of staff staying late.

Friends or family members that have been authorised by you to collect your child from camp are able to collect. This must be agreed with the activities club co-ordinator, and the password system will be used. The authorised person must also bring photographic identification when collecting.

Yes, children aged 11 years old and over can sign themselves in and out of the activities club. Parents must scan and post/email a letter with a handwritten signature to grant permission for their child to sign themselves in/out of camp to andy@edgesportsandactivities.com. The letter must include the child’s name, parent’s name, contact details, the time the child is expected to arrive in the morning, the time the child should be signed out/released from camp, and the dates the child is attending the camp. Parents must contact Edge Activities Club on 07812 104 128 if the child has not returned home by the time expected.

We advise that children come ready for an active day. We recommend that children wear trainers and clothing that they can move around in comfortably. Jeans are not suitable (We cannot be responsible for damage to any clothes so please do not send children in their best).

Children should bring a healthy packed lunch with morning and afternoon snacks, and a refillable water bottle that the children can take out with them throughout the day (we supply drinking water for them to fill their bottles).

Please also pack sun cream for your child, preferably applying it before they arrive, although we cannot apply sun cream directly to your child, we will remind them throughout the day to re-apply. We also recommend bringing a cap or sunhat during hot weather.

Ultimate Activity Camps are for children aged 4 to 12 years. The Ultimate Activity Camps programme is tailored to each age group and children are also grouped by age to ensure they get the appropriate level of instruction and care, and make new friends of a similar age.

Our staff members are chosen for their experience, qualifications, attitude and passion for working with children. Our co-ordinators are either experienced coaches or teachers and are selected for their leadership skills. All staff member are selected through a rigorous recruitment process. We conduct Enhanced CRB checks and references on all our staff, and are put through our training programme.

All children are divided into groups of children of a similar age to ensure they get the appropriate level of instruction and care, and ensuring they make new friends.

Yes, as long as they are about the same age as each other – usually within 18 months. Friend requests should be made at the time of booking, or up to 14 days before the activities club starts. Parents can add friend requests at the time of booking or by calling 07812 104 128 once you have made a booking.

We know how daunting the first day can seem to a child, but usually within a short time they are settled, making new friends and raring to go! Our experienced staff know how to welcome new children and make them feel comfortable and confident within their group. Parents are welcome to call the activities club co-ordinator during the day to check on how your child is settling in.

We understand that sending your child can seem like a daunting prospect, but we our staff are experienced at welcoming newcomers. Most of the children will be attending on their own, and be looking to make friends, so you and your child are not alone! Each child will be assigned a group leader for the week who can discuss any concerns with you. You can contact the activities club co-ordinator at any point during the day to check on how your child is doing.

We know how unpredictable the British weather can be! We have a varied and exciting wet weather plan that minimises disruption to the timetable and means children keep having heaps of fun.

We do everything possible to minimise bumps and scrapes, and have fully trained first aiders on site. In the event of a minor accident our staff will attend to your child as necessary. For anything beyond that you will be immediately informed, and in the unlikely event of a serious accident we will inform emergency services. If your child becomes ill, we will do everything we can to make them comfortable, however it may be in their best interest to be collected early as we do not have the capacity or facilities to care for poorly children.

We aim to be as inclusive as possible, and if your child requires extra support, please email/call us to discuss your child’s specific needs.

At the time of booking, please give us as much information regarding medical conditions and medication as possible in order for us to appropriately care for your child. All information you provide at the time of booking will be with our staff on Camp by the time you arrive for your first day. Please note we will only administer medication that is prescribed for that child by a health profession. All medicine must be labelled, and left with the activities club co-ordinator on arrival.

If you require your child to have an Epi-Pen, we will ask you to complete an additional information form to give us as much information about the allergy before your child attends. Although we have qualified first aiders on Camp, on your first morning we will ask that a medical professional (or you if a medical professional is unavailable) demonstrate the use of the Epi-pen to our activities club co-ordinator, your child’s group leader and our first aider so that both our staff and you are completely comfortable before your child’s first day.

Drop off and pick is accessed via the main school reception entrance on Pyrcroft Road (please note there will be no access via the far end of the school field). Click here for directions to the school.
